There are a few rules to remember when choosing colour Schemes and Themes, here are four main colour schemes that work really well together.

*Monochromatic - this colour scheme is achieved by the use of a single colour and the varying shades and intensities of that chosen colour. The chosen colour is usually determined by the dress colour. For example if a Bridesmaid was wearing a mid pink dress, a Bouquet of Hot Pink Oriental Lillies, Mid Pink Roses and Soft Pink Hyacinth would harmonise well and portray a monochromatic colour scheme.

*Complementary - with this colour scheme you can create a great contrast. Colours that appear directly opposite each other on the colour wheel are complementary, For example if a dress is yellow , then its complementary colour is violet. A bouquet of purple Sweet Peas, mauve Lisianthus and touch of yellow Roses to link in dress colour would make a lovely complementary colour scheme.

*Triadic - a colour triad is made from three colours that appear the same distance apart on the colour wheel. For instance Red ,Yellow,Blue form a triad of colour. The Bouquet would have the three different colours used with one of the colours being the dress colour. For example with a red bridesmaid dress a bouquet of bright red Gerberas, Blue Iris and Yellow Ranunculus would form a triadic colour scheme.

*Analogous - This scheme is the use of colours which lie adjacent to each other on the colour wheel with in a 90 degree angle. For example on the Colour Wheel
YellowOrange, Orange and RedOrange. A bridemaids dress or a reception venue room would establish the base colour. So with an orange dress or a room with orange walls or a table cloth, Yellow Orange Roses, Red Orange Calla Lillies and Orange Cumquats creates an Analogous scheme.
